Job Description

Vaco Financial is seeking a positive, energetic, and passionate Controller to join the local leadership team at an international company:

  • Accountable for the accounting and finance operations of the company, to include maintaining an adequate system of accounting records, production of financial reports that ensure the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and enabling the analysis of operational data
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
  • Ensures proper bookkeeping, maintains appropriate accounting records, leads accounting functions
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying relevant legislation; files required forms and reports; acts as a liaison with external tax consultants
  • Achieves budget objectives by overseeing periodic budget planning process, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions
  • Leads the treasury function and working capital management by driving collections and maintaining appropriate cash flow
  • Develops a team of financial staff by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; plans, monitors, and appraises job results
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks as needed
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
The Ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years related experience
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant desired
  • Great interpersonal skills - Displays honesty, ethics, and integrity always
  • Superior problem-solving ability and analytical skills
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters
