Vaco is searching for a Controller with 10 or more years of experience for a growing $75 million engineering and consulting firm we are working with in Marietta (near SunTrust Park). The controller will report to the company President, and, secondarily, the Chief Financial Officer. This position is responsible for preparing and analyzing company financial reports and budgets. Role targets $125K-$140K base plus bonus and offers the ability to hire your own team, a nice work-life balance, flexibility, good benefits and convenient location near SunTrust Park.

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recoding of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls, and checks across all department
  • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, case disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, fixed asset records, cost account and general operations.
  • Develop, improve and issue timely monthly, or as needed, financial records for Senior Management
  • Assure financial plans are consistent with goals for budgeting and forecasting
  • Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company initiatives or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, etc. when necessary
  • Manage commercial banking relationships to facility an appropriate credit resource under highly competitive terms
  • Assures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and for qualifying programs.
  • Management of month/year end closing process
  • Work closely with executive team in the development and economic evaluation of various fringe benefit programs for staff and program components
  • Interface with corporate holding company as well as outside audit firms, banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies and collection agencies
  • Provide a visionary and leadership implementation role on behalf of Finance to all departments creating a well-respected and sought after department goal.
  • Takes ownership and contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field required
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • 10+ years accounting management preferred
  • 3-5 years engineering or architectural firm experience preferred
