Job Description

Controller

Vaco's client is seeking a Controller that will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing all aspects of the accounting and financial areas, including the development and administration of accounting and financial policies on finance, accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and auditing. Lead, motivate, mentor, and develop an accounting/financial team. Develop working relationship with all department heads to provide support, advice and business suggestions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic management of the accounting, finance, and financial reporting functions
  • Direct accounting policies and procedures and internal controls
  • Recommend improvements to ensure the integrity of the company's financials, controls, and processes
  • Integration Tools: Develop, improve and maintain Finance and Accounting integration processes, tools, and templates.
  • Manage and oversee the relationship with external auditors

Education and Experience

  • A BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Requires minimum 10 years of professional experience
  • Demonstrate a high-energy level, a sense of urgency, responsiveness, client-service approach, and low-ego.
  • Strong financial reporting experience
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to delegate and manage effectively.
  • The ability to prioritize workload and perform multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • A strong track record of high performance
  • A process improvement/work simplification mindset
  • Initiative and the ability to drive results
