Position Summary
The position of Core Systems Operations Analyst is established to facilitate efficient program
development and maintenance of the Core System and has been established to ensure timely and
accurate posting of programs using automation. Researches and resolves all core operations
systems-related issues in a timely manner. The incumbent is expected to analyze information and
provide recommendations to management on a regular basis. Partners with other internal IT teams
as well as vendor support teams, and assists the Computer Operations staff with functional
guidance as needed. Maintains quality service standards set by the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 Develops and codes complex programs for operations systems as assigned. Configures software
applications to meet user needs, and writes custom scripts to streamline workflows.
 Participates in testing efforts for operations systems and special initiatives. Assists in testing and
implementation of system software updates and changes. Routinely performs QA testing in
accordance with department policies.
 Troubleshoots and supports proprietary software programs as well as third party software and
applications. Stays current on system features and software releases. Reviews release notes and
analyze implications.
 Works with IT teams and personnel on projects and initiatives. Communicates plans, progress
and issues in a timely manner. Surfaces delays or obstacles and makes recommendations which
are aligned with project objectives.
 Responds to user requests; Creates, revises, and supports system related jobs using ticketing
system as needed. Documents interactions and schedules follow ups. Tracks progress and
interacts with other users to facilitate resolution.
 Maintains a working understanding of system infrastructure in order to help monitor and resolve
general issues affecting operating systems.
 Troubleshoots hardware, connectivity and storage issues. Works with service providers to
resolve outages and other issues.
 Creates, revises and updates department procedures as needed. Analyzes workflow and makes
recommendations to streamline processes. Performs research of best practices and determines
 Works with NOC engineers to create documentation of processes and procedures required to
operate the Core System.

 Attends meetings and assimilates updates, both strategic and tactical, into systems planning
recommendations. Provides input for budgeting and proposals that are aligned with short and
long term planning.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
 Participate in AML/BSA compliance training as assigned. Adhere to credit union AML/BSA
policy and procedures including CTR rules and form preparation, identify and refer suspicious
activity to the Compliance Department, perform OFAC comparisons, and properly identify
individuals in accordance with Branch Operations procedures.
 Cross-trains and mentors others to create bench strength and continuation of coverage.
 Assist with on-call duties and after hours support.
 Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
 Certificate or Degree in Computer Science; or 5 years equivalent experience; or a blend of
education and experience.
 Working knowledge of the Symitar system.
 Must have experience working with highly available systems, preferably with Episys, Synapsys,
Synergy, ARCU, MeridianLink, Image Center and OpCon.
 Knowledge of Financial Institution batch processes. Experience with banking processes and
financial business applications highly desirable.
 Proven experience with 24/7 job automated processing and job ticketing.
 Experience with testing procedures, systems processing design, or equivalent processes.
 Organizational skills sufficient to prioritize concurrent projects, plan work and meet
