Job Description

Vaco is the only recruiter in Atlanta working with a fast growing start up, located in Sandy Springs, to find a new corporate accountant (to $65K). The Corporate Accountant is responsible for supporting our client's Accounting Manager in the preparation, review, and distribution of all financial reports in accordance with GAAP and our clients standard operating procedures. This is a new position due to continued growth at our client.

SUMMARY: Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Assists Accounting Manager in preparing complex reporting schedules and other financial reports.


  • Process and manage the posting of A/R transactions and ensure timely A/R collections
  • Process and manage the posting of A/P transactions and prepare A/P disbursement proposals
  • Perform various Balance Sheet account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
  • Daily cash flow analysis
  • Ensure the resolution of customer and vendor discrepancies
  • Assist Accounting Manager in month-end closing activities
  • Assist in maintaining fixed asset schedule and record monthly depreciation
  • Participate with Accounting Manager on monthly budgeting and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP standards & best practices
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Reports directly to the Accounting Manager, may be requested duties from company leadership


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or two years related accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience and training
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Reliable self-starter with positive attitude, problem solver with analytical skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Above average analytical skills
  • Proficient Computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Experience with Quickbooks required
  • Experience in a start-up environment a plus
