Job Description

Vaco Atlanta is working with a longstanding client where we have made many placements over the years. Our client has grown exponentially over the years. And while credentials such as a CPA along with solid technical accounting skills are important, the differentiators that we are looking for include demonstrated operational and business partner type experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for monthly, quarterly and year end accounting close by stated deadline and assure the accuracy of these statements
  • Manages the balance sheet account reconciliation and review process
  • Oversees payroll process and reporting
  • Act as business partner with Operations management to ensure operational success and to help build the business model, implement tactical and strategic initiatives, and support the company's performance and growth strategy
  • Drive process improvements through the implementation of operational best practices
  • Primary contact with outside auditors on quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Communicate effectively with the technology team to automate accounting transactions from operations system to ERP
  • Other as changing circumstances warrant


Specific knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • 8+ years of accounting experience
  • Recent technical accounting experience in a high transaction, Financial Services, environment
  • B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus but not required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel
  • Experience with a complex ERP system (multiple locations and revenue streams)
  • Demonstrated operational, business partner type experience required in a corporate setting
  • Detail and solution oriented work style; someone who enjoys digging into the details and producing results
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization to include the CFO, COO and CEO
