Vaco Atlanta is recruiting for a Corporate Controller that will provide ongoing leadership for our client's accounting and financial operations in North America, Asia, Africa and South America. The Controller will be responsible for all the financial accounting operations, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit, and collections. The Controller will also have responsibility for financial reporting and consolidations. This position will lead our annual audit processes and have oversight of our control environment. This role will actively lead and participate in the change management of financial processes across the globe and drive standard operating processes and procedures that improve our efficiencies and controls across our ERP network. Salary for this role is up to $175K and our client is profitable and growing.

The position will also act as our chief accounting officer, bringing technical accounting expertise as well as developing technical research capabilities. The process streams to be supported will be:

  • Financial Reporting/Controls
    • Financial reporting management
    • Internal Control management
    • Reconciliation of Management vs. GAAP
    • Support company level budget and forecasting processes
  • Transactional
    • AP invoice processing, payment processing
    • Travel expenses auditing and payment processing
    • Accounts receivable maintenance (cash posting)
    • Payroll processing and postings
    • Fixed asset accounting
  • Accounting
    • Intercompany accounting (settling and billing)
    • General ledger management
    • Financial accounting and monthly close
    • Statutory accounting and reporting

The position will require extensive and effective communication across functions and with senior financial management, including the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer and financial personnel in our business lines and global operations. There will be approximately 11 direct reports locally, and across the globe.


  • Exercise fiscal oversight for the financial shared services centers
  • Manage Global Cost Center expenses related to process streams
  • Lead Technical Accounting and research
  • Manage staff in accordance with organization's policies and applicable legislation. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems.
  • Provide directional guidance to management team for all process areas included in the scope of shared services. Integrate finance processes of new acquisitions into the financial shared service centers
  • Work closely with teams across the organization and in the business lines to identify and implement opportunities for efficiencies (including the ERP IT team);
  • Manage performance to targeted Global Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to align with delivery of desired service level to the business
  • Provide Senior Finance Management globally and supported units with regular communication of performance against desired service levels
  • Represent Finance team on key committees as designated by the SVP, Chief Financial Officer


  • CPA Required
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with a public accounting firm
  • Knowledge of financial systems and reporting tools (experience with SAP a big plus and Hyperion is also a plus)
  • Manufacturing industry experience required
  • Travel component of 20% to 30% with some international experience required
  • International accounting experience required along with management of remote teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or MaCC)
  • Basic understanding of IFRS
