Job Description

We are currently seeking a paralegal with corporate experience for a fantastic law firm in Tampa, FL. This is a direct hire position that pays up to $60k for the right candidate. Corporate law firm experience is a must!

Heavy contracts, employment agreements

5 person legal team

General Counsel is remote, there is a senior

  • Coordinates management of litigation against the company, including file set up, retention of counsel, reporting to applicable insurance carrier, review of legal expenses and reporting to General Counsel
  • Responsible for filing and supervision of company corporate insurance and all other state licensing requirements
  • Assists General Counsel in the placement of all insurance coverage for the company, including information gathering, completion of applications and upkeep of insurance records
  • Involvement with revisions and coordination of company service contracts, employment agreements and vendor contracts
  • Coordinates all subpoena's served on company
  • Transcribes handwritten or recorded notes
  • Provides technical support for branch automation system
  • Composes and types routine correspondence, memorandums and letters
  • Provides legal support as needed;
  • Interfaces with clients and claim staff to provide professional and accurate communications, claim data and product; enters and issues checks; prepares outgoing mail
  • Other duties as assigned


One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of paralegal corporate experience
  • Experience with litigation and contract management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Extremely accurate, and detailed in their paperwork.
  • Work well under pressure and with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong computer skills, a good working knowledge of standard office technology and equipment, and general office procedures.
  • Paralegal certificate preferred


  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.


  • Must type at least 60 WPM. Proficient with various software, to include Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel (spreadsheet software), and database software.


  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


  • Paralegal certificate preferred
