Job Description

SUMMARY:

Individual will be primarily responsible for the setup of a standard costing system, BOM, cost pools, and allocating overhead, as well as assisting Sales with modeling, financial forecasting, and budget-to-actual variance reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):

Driving the implementation of a standard costing system

Performing month-end close responsibilities including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis related to costs, inventory and reserves.

Complete and manage the Bill of materials (BOM, cost pools, and allocating overhead)

Preparing financial reports summarizing account information and trends

Resolving account discrepancies

Communicating financial information to department heads and product line managers

Assisting Sales and Production to build financial models, projected expenses and sales revenue

Handling general ledger analysis, queries and related needs

Completing key performance indicator reports

Assisting with monthly 'actual vs. budget' variance analysis

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in accounting, finance or business administration is required.

CPA with public accounting experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical sector is preferred.

Minimum 5 years' accounting experience is required.

Experience in cost accounting, and the implementation of a standard costing system. Biotech/pharma experience including commercial revenue and clinical trials accounting experience is preferred.

Experience with Great Plains is strongly preferred

Expertise in GAAP principles is required
