Job Description

Our client is multi-billion-dollar international organization with this role serving the Southeastern United States, and sitting in Alpharetta, GA.

The Cost Accounting Manager is responsible for managing all phases of cost accounting (job costing - materials, production) to provide accurate information for financial reporting and support of the Company's manufacturing processes. This position is a key part of the month-end close process and is responsible for financial analysis, reporting and review of standard and non-standard journal entries associated with cost of sales. The Cost Accounting Manager will analyze inventory activity and recommend and implement process and system improvements as required. The Cost Accounting Manager will serve as a primary point of contact between Operational Personnel and the Finance and Accounting Department.

Requirements and Key Functions:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

* Job Costing experience

* SAP is a must, specifically the cost module in SAP

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Strong Excel Skills.

* Data analysis experience is required.

* Experience managing, coaching, providing feedback and performance reviews

* Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients is essential.

* Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Responsible for month-end closing for all inventory related activities.

* Manages cost accounting for US business units.

* Responsible for managing cost accounting staff.

* Inventory analysis and reconciliation.

* Plan, monitor and assist in physical inventories of materials.

* Month-end cost accounting journal entries and closing activities for inventory accounts and related cost of goods sold.

* Maintenance of standard cost system, including raw materials, work in process, finished goods and manufacturing overhead.

* Review of manufacturing bills of materials for accuracy.

* Analysis and resolution of discrepancies when they occur.

* Recommend and implement controls for areas of improvement.

* Take lead role in complex projects for a fast paced manufacturing company.

* Initiate "what if" analysis to determine opportunities for cost savings.

Additional Functions of Position

* Position requires infrequent travel.

* Working with auditors in the explanation and support of inventory and cost of goods sold transactions

* This role will become the subject matter expert in SAP inventory costing and should be able to quickly adapt to systems
