Cost Accounting Manager

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSET REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Must have 7+ years of managing other cost accountants and at least 10+ years of manufacturing
  • Will manager 4 people in 4 different locations- some travel
  • Ability to apply knowledge of GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards
  • Ability to research, analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves
  • Track record of working in a cross functional organization and leading a team
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Products
  • Exposure to AS400 PRMS system in a manufacturing environment preferred

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and interpret cost audits including examining cost inconsistencies with projected values, reviewing cost methods and activities, route structure, and BOM
  • Assist in production reporting
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis for annual standard cost rolls and inventory revaluation
  • Prepare and analyze annual material budget and intercompany sales demands
  • Support internal department reporting requirements
  • Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls
  • Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly and quarterly gross margin reports
  • Review and analyze inventory margin reports
  • Conduct research and perform analytical studies in regard to cost analysis and profitability
  • Assist in the month end close: Prepare journal entries, analyze inventory, inventory roll forward and capitalization of variances.
  • Prepare and Analyze WIP inventory, assist in production usage variance reporting
  • Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories
  • Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory and gross margin schedules
  • Work on special projects as required
