Job Description

Credentialing Coordinator:

Our client is looking for a qualified Credentialing Coordinator whose looking to join a thriving team in the beautiful Sarasota area!

Summary:

This position is responsible for leading, coordinating, monitoring, and maintaining the credentialing and re-credentialing process and make certain healthcare professionals and services meet all established federal and state standards. Ensures interpretation and compliance with the appropriate accrediting and regulatory agencies, while developing and maintaining a working knowledge of the statues and laws relating to credentialing.

Primary Tasks:


  • Processes provider credentialing applications in accordance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and policies and procedures.
  • Conducts thorough background investigation, research and primary source verification of all components of the application file.
  • Identifies issues that require additional investigation and evaluation, validates discrepancies and insures appropriate follow-up.
  • Responds to inquiries from other healthcare organizations, interfaces with internal and external customers on day-to-day credentialing and privileging issues as they arise.
  • Maintains copies of current state licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage and any other required credentialing documents for all providers.
  • Tracks license and certification expirations for all providers to ensure timely renewals.
  • Promotes and practices our client's mission and values, and follows its policies and procedures.
  • Ensures confidentiality is maintained by CM team regarding patient/client information in accordance with HIPAA, professional and departmental standards.

  • Secondary Tasks:


  • Sets up and maintains provider information in online credentialing databases and system.
  • Maintains corporate provider contract files.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Physical Requirements:


  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.


  • Visual and auditory acuity.
  • Able to communicate clearly over the telephone.

  • Education/Professional:


  • High School Diploma; Associate degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years Credentialing experience preferred.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:


  • Neat, professional appearance.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and internet resources.
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and draw inferences from research findings, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to manage and impart confidential information.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, management, staff, and contacts outside the organization.
