Vaco Technology is seeking a full time Data Analyst. This position is located in Purchase, New York.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production support for all reinsurance reporting tools, applications and data sources
  • Point of contact for ad hoc data / reporting requests for Global Reinsurance
  • Meet with key business stakeholders to elicit and document business requirements for new reports / reporting functionality
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into reporting deliverables
  • Liaise with IT services to assist with detailed requirements gathering and testing of new reports and reporting tools.
  • Liaise with the Reinsurance Application Support group to define application changes to improve data quality, consistency and accuracy.
  • Provide secondary production support for Blue Capital and Global Reinsurance applications as needed
  • Participate in evaluating new technologies to support the organizations business intelligence needs
  • Establish and maintain training program for all reports and reporting tools for Global Reinsurance
  • Support continued process improvement within reinsurance underwriting and reporting

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1-4 years of data analysis experience
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting services (Power BI and other Self Service BI platforms), and databases (i.e. SQL)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Expertise in delivery technologies and data access, including familiarity with metadata, data organization, and data quality assessment
  • Prior experience within the P&C (re)insurance industry
  • Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn and adapt to change and should be able to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Any prior ETL implementation experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with accounting and finance practices and principles
