Job Description

Our client in San Diego is seeking Database Administrators to join their team on a direct hire basis. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in IT or related field, and 1-2 years of experience in database administration. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving database issues, configuring and monitoring database utilities, and assisting with installing, upgrading, and configuring databases.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, analyze, resolve and escalate database related issues
  • Create and maintain application logins and access rights
  • Query and update database content in response to business requests
  • Provide database administration support on a 24 x 7 rotating schedule
  • Create reports in response to business and user needs
  • Ensure successful backups of database environments

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or additional years of work experience
  • 1-2 years of progressive experience in database administration and development of
  • enterprise level environments
  • Experience with designing, implementing and administering Always On Availability Groups in a
  • multi-datacenter environment.
  • Experience with data security implementations
  • Ability to detect and troubleshoot database related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other
  • resource contention issues
  • Knowledge of T-SQL
