Job Description



Job Purpose Statement:

The Demand planner will be responsible to build a twenty four month sales forecast that incorporates multiple sources of information such as OE forecasts at varying horizons, marketing insights, internal forecasts for the aftermarket and promotions, historical sales and transitional information such as NPI (New Product Launch) and EOL (End of Life). The demand planner must be able to convert large amounts of data into presentable information to help provide insights and gain forecast consensus with multiple departments within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage SKU-level forecasts using multiple sources of quantitative and qualitative information such as OE forecasts, future orders, historical sales and feedback from sales and marketing.
  • Consult with functional teams such as sales, marketing, operations, finance, and product management to obtain relevant data and insights on demand.
  • Lead Demand meetings with Sales and Product Management to review forecast error, future forecasts, and ensure EOL, NPI and replacement products are properly accounted for in the forecast.
  • Integrate the Demand review results into the final business planning process.
  • Accurately load forecast into ERP system to drive the appropriate requirements.
  • Provide Sales & marketing with various reports to support market research and customer meetings.
  • Drive improvement in the company's key metrics such as forecast accuracy, fill rate, inventory turns, SMOG and EBITDA.
  • Support business, marketing, inventory or production strategies, and organizational / supply chain improvement opportunities to meet market needs and the company's growth initiatives.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional projects.
  • Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with all stakeholders, including customers.


Requirements
  • BS/BA in Supply Chain management, logistics, finance, engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis or related major required.
  • Minimum 3 years of demand planning experience in a multi-product / multi-location environment.
  • Particularly strong in data gathering and analytics using Excel, Access, Sequel Server and other similar tools.
  • Able to aggregate large amounts of data into useful and presentable information and lead value added discussions around this information.
  • Comfortable leading demand meetings with multiple levels within the organization.
  • Self-Motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience with and deep understanding of MRP systems and the implications of accuracy.
