Job Description

Pay: $20-$25/hr

Position: Design Analyst

Location: Englewood, CO

Sizzle: great opportunity for recent engineering or architecture grad who wants entry level role in high-growth company that is part of a large, established homebuilder- great resume builder

About:

  • Subsidiary of Lennar Homes, they install solar panels to all eligible lennar homes in California, Colorado, Nevada, Texas
  • 30-40% YOY growth, this year they will install to about 8,000 homes

Why is this role open?

  • New position to support the Current Design Manager and take some work off his plate
  • 2 phases of design: 1) figure out how much energy each home will use and then 2) design the system for the home to support #1
  • This role will be focused on step 1; they will be analyze the home plan (taking various inputs about the home to figure out how much energy consumption it will use); take the information about each plan and use their tool (BEopt) to enable the design manager to go to step 2
  • The information includes thins like the type of windows in the home, the insulation, the appliancesk ,the size of the home; about 30 data points used to analyze consumption

Requirements

  • Exposure to homebuilding, an architectural background, or interest in building design is helpful in that there will be a lot of exposure to that terminology
  • Genuine interest in green energy or construction is helpful

Education and Experience Requirements:

BA in Architectural Engineering preferred or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience or Education in residential construction or architectural design.

Understanding of residential construction documents and building materials

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to sort, process, and organize work requests and deliverable data.

Proficiency with, MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Experience with CAD, PVsyst, BEopt, Sketchup, SAM, or other energy modeling software a plus
