The Desktop Support Engineer will provide technical support to TCM Bank NA internal staff, including configuration, installation, maintenance and support, moving, troubleshooting, and testing of computer systems, peripherals, phone sets and software within established bank standards and guidelines. Other activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems. A successful candidate will possess a high-level of customer service skills since this position utilizes one-on-one consultancy to end users. The position's responsibilities require independent analysis, communication, and problem solving skills. Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative, judgment, effective communications and a desire to for success and achievement.


Duties & Responsibilities
1. Assisting staff with the installation, configuration, maintenance and support of desktop computers, laptops, iPads, tablets, mobile devices, printers, phones, other peripheral equipment, and software within established standards and guidelines.
2. Working with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment, software, printers and other peripheral equipment and services. Determining and resolving technical incidents received from internal clients and other corporate supporting technology groups, as appropriate.
3. Interacting with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment, including remote vendor and supplier applications presented in the Cloud or a SaaS or ASP model.
4. Ensuring desktop, laptops, and other devices interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems, including Active Directory domains, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, administrative systems and remote vendor and supplier applications and systems.
5. Confirm all devices are installed with standard, secure, corporate images and configuration settings and maintain these images through products such as Desktop Central and Windows Deployment Services (MDS) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).
6. Training staff and employees on hardware, software, and services use.
7. Recommend, test and perform upgrades on desktop systems and applications to ensure proper operation, supportability and/or security compliance.

8. Assisting procurement staff with hardware and software purchases
9. Assessing functional needs to determine purchase specifications
10. Assisting in the maintenance of LAN/WAN/System records, including cabling plant infrastructure as it relates to VoIP and data services
11. Setting up new user work-station environment including voice services and phone, desktop, laptop, or tablet system as requested; VPN access and any specific functional role requested applications as noted in the new user set-up request ticket.
12. Process and maintain all problem, incident and request tickets within the TCM Bank ticket system providing timely and detailed updates.
13. Maintain process for asset inventory management through the use of existing systems such as Desktop Central and Solarwinds Orion Asset Inventory module.
14. Assist with logical security administration including password resets on various internal and external systems and applications.
15. Order, maintain and support all services for users associated with the corporate wireless plan including device management, user management, and service management.


Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years similar work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer
  • Current MCSE certification (or proof of active work towards certification)
  • Comp TIA A+ certification
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to support Microsoft® Windows OS up through Windows 10, Microsoft Office up through 2016.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the OSI model
