Job Description

DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING

Summary:

Global company is seeking a Director of Accounting to join their fast-paced organization. The Director of Accounting responsibilities include preparation, maintenance, accuracy, and timeliness of monthly/yearly financial statements. The Director of Accounting will also oversee the monthly and quarterly forecasted statements, development of the annual plan, management of all direct accounting functions, and design and execution of internal control policies. In addition, the Director of Accounting will work closely with the Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, to maintain consistency of accounting procedures across sites.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Month End Close - Journal Entries, Financial Statement Prep and Reporting (including variance analysis)
  • General ledger management for operating entity and oversight of all subsidiary financial functions
  • Responsible to maintain the integrity of ledger entries and accounting processes.
  • Financial reporting in accordance with United States GAAP and oversight of all compliance matters, including Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements
  • Coordination and execution of annual External Audits and periodic Internal Audits
  • Responsible for design and execution of internal control environment to ensure protection of and accounting for all company owned assets
  • Maintain a log of all journal entries to create an audit trail for all postings to the General Ledger
  • Oversee execution of daily transactions and overall liquidity requirements
  • Negotiation, implementation and coordination of company insurance programs in accordance with local needs and company policy
  • Manage all yearly federal and state tax packages, tax credits, property tax returns, and the Labor Analysis Report.
  • Interact with corporate personnel and plant management and prepare reports and analysis as requested.
  • Coordinate and reconcile physical inventories.
  • Support, encourage and participate in all improvement initiatives, and serve on teams as member or leader.
  • Work with operational personnel in matters related to credit policy extension and monitoring collection of all categories of accounts receivable.
  • Provide basis for budget preparations
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer


Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of accounting experience
  • CPA, CMA or MBA required
  • Big 4 Audit Experience preferred
  • Experience with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Hyperion, Oracle or other large ERP systems
  • Experience working in a publicly traded company with familiarity of Sarbanes Oxley controls
