Job Description

Vaco Financial is searching a Director of Accounting and Finance to join a global company at their corporate campus in Memphis, TN. The Director of Accounting and Finance would:

  • Ensure the accuracy of financials, timeliness of close and subsequent reporting for the business unit
  • Lead and develop general corporate accounting team
  • Oversee treasury function including cash management, forecasting, and repatriation plans
  • Liaise with corporate financial reporting team to ensure timely and accurate compliance with monthly and quarterly reporting requirements
  • Prepare monthly reporting package for leadership team including variance analysis
  • Coordinate monthly forecast changes with key business leaders with responsibility for final submission in the forecasting software
  • Lead implementations of any new accounting standards
  • Lead internal balance sheet reviews with facilities driving consistency and standardization
  • External audit support and coordinate testing with IT and facilities
  • Manage the internal control structure, including design and development of controls and ensuring any identified weaknesses are remediated timely
  • Assist with development of internal controls structure compliant with Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements
  • Create alignment with other business units and corporate internal controls within the organization
  • Provide accounting impact and guidance for any unusual transactions
  • Develop and comply with policies and procedures
  • Lead continuous process assessments to identify opportunities to be more efficient and eliminate waste or redundancy
  • Analyze financial statements including P&L, balance sheet, and working capital to identify opportunities to improve the business
  • Manage projects identified finance initiatives
  • Budget and forecast for SG&A expenses
  • Coordinate the month end closing process with facilities while streaming processes for a faster close

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university
  • Minimum 5-7 years of management experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with major ERP; SAP experience would be a plus
  • Master's degree preferred
  • CPA qualification preferred
