Job Description

The Director of Accounting will be responsible for certain investment functions, as well as financial reporting. Other significant areas of responsibility are Balance Sheet and Income Statement review and variance explanations, maintaining account reconciliations, review of Technical Accounting Issues and writing white papers and acting as a liaison with auditors while assisting in controlling the company audit process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for timely and accurate closing of monthly G/L, including the preparation and posting of all general accruals, recurring entries, as well as any other entries assigned by Controller
  • Manage general corporate accounting processes
  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion and review of financial matter presentation and stance
  • Utilize knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and be able to write and produce audit package
  • Perform GAAP research to write position papers on technical issues for the annual financial audit
  • Prepare year-end audit work papers and financial statements including disclosures
  • Supervise staff and ensure other department's compliance to the closing and audit timetables and guidelines

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • 7 - 10 years of accounting experience in a combination of a public or private company or public accounting firm
  • CPA required
  • Strong MS Excel, MS Word, and general ledger systems experience preferred
