JOB DESCRIPTION

The Director of Finance position is responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions. The Director of Finance also oversees cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/collection and payroll and risk management.

Essential Functions

  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Provides status of financial condition of the company by collecting, interpreting and reporting key financial data.
  • Manages budget and controls expenses effectively.
  • Implements a management process for strategy development and ensure appropriate linkage to company's strategic objectives.
  • Partners with business unit leader to execute short and long-range strategic plans.
  • Integrates execution across various departments.
  • Oversees the implementation of effective processes for achieving business goals
  • Evaluates and analyzes the financial impact of key business strategies (i.e. market investments, market exits, acquisitions, etc.).
  • Analyzes and critically evaluates growth opportunities.
  • Leads assigned projects to drive the execution of actions to improve business results.
  • Monitors training initiatives for the financial operations across the county.
  • May ensure expense allocations are reviewed and revised to support business objectives.
  • Ensures in-depth cost analysis is conducted for all business areas.
  • Directs the evaluation of business area projects, challenging financial resources, resolving expense savings.
  • Identifies savings opportunities and organizational streamlining opportunities.

Travel

Requirements

  • 10+ years of finance and/or accounting experience
  • Experience with non-profit
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA is a plus
  • Strong project management with multiple operations, planning, reporting, and budgeting skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and adjust to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong computer software skills including Microsoft Excel and Word, Netsuite or Adaptive Planning and ability to learn new systems
