Job Description

Vaco Atlanta is exclusively looking for a Director of Human Resources role for a healthcare services client we work with in Sandy Springs. Our client is growing at warp speed (M&A plus organic growth) so we are looking for a candidate that's either started or grown an HR department with a company experiencing tremendous growth. In addition, advanced level certifications and great communication skills are sought. Below is a representative, high level job scope document but in many ways the successful candidate will write their own job description.

Job Scope:

  • Recruiting and staffing
  • Organizational development
  • Employee orientation
  • Employee benefits and compensation
  • Employee relations
  • Training and mentorship
  • Key role in developing and maintaining culture
  • Maintains employee records and documentation `
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and industry regulations
  • Advise department managers on legal implications of HR issues related to discipline and employee grievances
  • Develop / improve employee handbook
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws
  • Other Special Projects (e.g., FLSA related)


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field required
  • 5+ years of work experience in HR most recently as a Manager or newly appointed Director
  • Experience in the medical or healthcare services industry is a big plus
  • PHR or other recognized HR certification required. SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification a big plus
  • Strong general knowledge of Human Resources and Payroll
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated track record of being a decisive leader
  • Ability to analyze complex problems quickly, develop and implement solutions
  • Ability to assess risk and develop Human Resource plans and programs to mitigate liability and ensure operational success
  • Successful track record building proactive programs such as recruiting, diversity, performance reviews, compensation, payroll, and HRIS systems
  • Highly motivated team player with a "can do" attitude
  • Demonstrated success in supporting an organization experiencing rapid growth is a big plus
