Director of Marketing and Communications

Virginia Beach, VA - Pay between $80k and $100k

A reputable company in real estate is currently seeking a Director of Marketing. The person in this role will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and evaluating different marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities on both an internal and external level. The candidate must also be able to develop and implement support materials and services such as advertising, promotions, and public relations to support marketing objectives to maximize the positive exposure of the company in both local and national markets. They must also budget and allocate resources for communication programs that lien up with market research findings. The person in this role will directly report to the Chief Investment Officer and collaborate and work closely with all Executive Officers.

Responsibilities:

-Developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communications program that will ensure the articulation of the company's image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position internally as well as externally

-Develop budgets for marketing, communications, and public relations program and all related activities

-Partner with leadership team to create and distribute effective press releases both internally and externally via social media, news media, radio, etc. to increase brand awareness

-Coordinate media interest in the company and ensure regular contact with media and appropriate responses to media requests

-Serve as the company's representative to the media, work with marketing team and outside vendors to ensure consistency in media

-Participate in Request for Proposals (RFPs) and occasional client meetings

-Assisting with business development efforts as needed

-Coordinate events with appropriate executive officers and managers

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

-BA or BS in Marketing, Public Relations, or Business

-Minimum of 5 years' experience in marketing, communications, and media relations with demonstrated success (preferably with public company). Experience with social media outlets also required

-Strong oral and written communication skills

-Experience in developing and managing budgets

-Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations, and negotiating with media

-Proficiency with MS Office software products, database management, and page layout

-Ability to multi task, occasional out-of-town and overnight travel is required
