Job Description

Vaco Richmond is currently recruiting for a Director of Operations for a stable, private systems/security company that is headquartered in the Richmond, VA area. This is a newly created position that will report to the President and work closely with executive team.

Summary/Objective

The Director of Operations provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people in place to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the company. Assist with overseeing the operations of company and the associated employees. Primarily individual will be responsible for managing the project managers, finance, administrative, and field operations professionals.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee and manage the operations of the business, securing new work, manage contracts, projects and operations for projects.
  • Provide strategic leadership, direction, coaching and mentoring
  • Manage financial control and accountability.
  • Develop and implement policies and programs for performance goals and growth.
  • Oversee production efforts for the business.
  • Review and consult and execute all contracts.
  • Ensure company is in compliance with Company's policies, safety program, procedures and federal, state and local regulations.
  • Maintain forecast for business financial results.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Organizational Behavior, Construction, Civil Engineering, or another related field.
  • At least five years in a senior management role
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, estimating, & financial planning and analysis
  • Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
  • Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission.
  • Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
