Job Description

JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for achieving high-level cultivation and stewardship of donors and prospects considering major gifts, planned and foundation gifts. Works in conjunction with the remote staff to complete the giving cycle for gift plans including bequests, charitable gift annuities, stock, IRA and life insurance beneficiary designations. Ensures the accuracy and effectiveness of marketing response devices and fulfillment packages in support of marketing strategy through the recognition of donor response trends and qualification of donors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Requires knowledge in all areas of planned giving vehicles, including bequests, charitable gift annuities, stock, IRA, trusts and life insurance beneficiary designations. Requires a high degree of communication, professionalism and relational expertise to manage a variety of internal and external relationships.
  • Collaborates to determine the appropriate cultivation for donors and prospects based on planned giving knowledge, understanding of strategic goals, interpersonal skill and expertise in qualification. Qualifies donors for possible referral and assignment to advancement team for further cultivation and stewardship.
  • Responsible for the management of the daily high donor calling program by providing personal acknowledgement to high-level major donors via strategic and proactive phone communication and written correspondence. This includes the day-to-day management and tracking of the calls and providing monthly updates to management. Works with the GP Business Systems team to manage the use, maintenance and enhancements of the high donor calling program reports.
  • Requires a high degree of organizational skills to develop and maintain the fulfillment procedures and qualifying processes of donor responses in support of the lead-generation and marketing efforts, including mail and digital, of multiple marketing strategy.
  • Accountable for ensuring the accurate recording of all donor interactions and mailing responses into the CRM system in order to maintain the integrity of records and to provide the infrastructure necessary for analysis and reporting for future marketing and cultivation efforts.
  • Attends regional and national meetings as required; stays current and knowledgeable on planned giving and complex assets through publications and educational sources. Maintains awareness of all fundraising programs and initiatives and is prepared to speak at various organizational events to inform donors and prospects.
