Our client is a well-established Medical Device company that has developed breakthrough intraocular lens technology. They are currently seeking an two Electrical Engineers to join their office under a
6-month contract with the possibility to extend.

$65/hr (Negotiable)


OVERVIEW:

This is an opportunity to contribute to the rapid growth of a state-of-the-art ophthalmic system used to restore vision from cataract surgery. Reporting to the Director of Light Delivery Device hardware engineering, this position will be hands on, responsible for the development, refinement, qualification and production transfer of the LDD control systems hardware.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This person has a role the development and support of the Light Delivery Device. The position is required to have system-to-component level design experience, including but not limited to microcontroller interfaces and programming, including assembly and/or C; schematic capture; ADC's, DAC's, and low-noise precision analog circuitry; distributed PoL power; and end-of-life BoM management. Experience developing and maintaining control system documentation, schematics, test procedures, and validation/verification protocols and reports is also required. Trouble shooting and system level testing is a requirement.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Schematic capture (Altium Designer, OrCAD Capture)
  • Microcontroller development (dsPIC, 8051) and hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, RS232/422 UART, PWM)
  • Analog circuitry (ADC / DAC circuits, photodiode conditioning, system instrumentation, PoL power supplies)
  • Development and debugging of analog and digital interfaces using simulation and/or hardware solutions
  • Analysis and documentation of component failures in production and the field
  • Adherence to established Quality Systems procedures and processes
  • Expertise in PCBA design software (Altium Designer, PADS Layout) desired
  • Experience with the full cycle of system EMC and safety testing processes desired
  • Design control; verification and validation, design transfer.
  • The ability to interface effectively with all levels and functions within the organization.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong preference for a minimum of 3 years direct experience in Medical Device environment.
