As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for developing and managing system databases as well as for database oversight within technical architecture and organizational initiatives.

Your daily duties and responsibilities in this role will generally include:

  • Designing database schemas, building tables, writing store procedures and working with the application development team
  • Understanding, implementing, documenting and maintaining database roles and security
  • Utilizing expertise in data management and data processing techniques
  • Developing SQL queries and ad-hoc reports as needed
  • Providing expertise on SQL clustering and replication
  • Utilizing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services(SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)

Job Requirements

As a Database Administrator, you must be highly technical, analytical and critical thinker. You need to be capable of working proficiently at both strategic and tactical aspects of a project. It is also important that you have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of staff.

Specific qualifications for the role include:

• Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Information Systems or in a related field working with advanced level systems and software integration concepts or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a DBA role
• 3-5 years’ experience of Microsoft SQL Server and other similar technologies
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with relational database modeling
• Experience with SQL clustering and replication
• Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services(SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
• Experience with Oracle/MySQL preferred
