A Westside startup is looking to bring on a Financial Reporting Director to their team. In this newly created role the Financial Reporting Director will report to the Controller, and lead all aspects of financial reporting and technical accounting. The Financial Reporting Director will also be responsible for stock-based compensation and supporting the audit. In this role the, the Financial Reporting Director should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, while also being a detail-oriented self-starter within a very fast-paced environment. What do you need for this Financial Reporting Director role?

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Active CPA, public accounting experience
• 10+ years of private sector financial reporting experience
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and current lease accounting standards

What will you do in this Financial Reporting Director role?

• Prepare SEC financial reporting and filing process
• Develop and implement processes to ensure support is obtained and maintained to support all SEC filing disclosures
• Disclosure reporting to ensure compliance
• Identify and assess the impact of new accounting pronouncements
• Perform tie-out procedures on other external financial information, such as earnings releases, call scripts, annual proxy statements, and other ad-hoc financial information
• Guide accounting and finance teams to ensure significant transactions are disclosed
• Prepare stock-based compensation, equity roll forward, and earnings per share calculation and disclosure requirements
• Research, resolve, and document accounting treatment from technical research
• Write technical accounting papers and internal memos documenting the accounting treatment and position of the matter
• Support the annual audit and quarterly review activities with the external CPA firm
• Analyze, recommend, and execute process changes for continual improvement
