Job Description:

Nashville-based Fixed Income Product Specialist to provide internal product support for AB's institutional fixed income business. Individual will work closely with AB's globally-based Fixed Income Business Development Team to help drive new business and support existing institutional client base. Individual will be responsible for maintaining deep product-related knowledge to assist in the development of marketing and client servicing materials, responding to client requests on portfolio strategy or market-related events, and providing internal product support for client-facing portfolio managers. Individual will also provide management oversight for Nashville-based Product Analysts

Describe the role:

  • Prepare or contribute to fixed income presentation materials: gather market data, portfolio characteristics, performance data, etc. to support product messaging
  • Write/edit monthly portfolio performance commentaries and market outlooks. This involves an understanding of market events and portfolio strategies
  • Regularly attend investment strategy meetings to stay current and updated on investment strategies
  • Respond to market or investment theme requests from clients. This involves interacting with portfolio management and research teams and often tailoring analysis to answer specific inquiries
  • Support Sales/Client Associates when they do not have the technical expertise or product knowledge
  • Identify trends in requests and proactively establish best practices for addressing likely future questions with established responses
  • Actively seek ways to leverage technology for process improvements, presentation standardization, and automation
  • Oversee the team of Product Analysts who are also involved in the tasks listed above

Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:

The role is part of AB's Fixed Income Business Development Team. This unit is responsible for driving new business and maintaining the existing client base by providing fixed income product and market expertise. The unit supports the Sales teams through product management (materials, positioning, sales ideas, fixed income market knowledge) and direct prospect and client meetings (client-facing portfolio managers).

Job Qualifications:

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Must be a player/coach and not delegator
  • Ability to oversee and mentor junior analysts
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate investment themes and portfolio attribution into well-written materials
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships throughout the firm
  • Strong execution skills - ability to run with a project and see through to completion
  • Strong technology skills - proficient with MS Office with advanced capabilities with Excel
  • Able to identify problems/issues and proactively seek solutions
  • Ability to multi-task, manage expectations, and keep attention to detail
  • Understanding of fixed income markets and AB products
  • Client service focus with understanding of institutional client base
  • Coding skills, such as Python, a plus

Qualifications, Experience, Education:

Bachelor degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, or Marketing. At least 5-7 years of experience in the financial services industry. Track record of outstanding performance.
