Job Description:
The Program Manager has a vital role at the Foundation as she/he is the individual who not only develops and maintains the organization's global programs but also participates in fundraising to support them. This individual must be professionally well rounded and suited to uphold the Foundation's mission statement and vision. The Program Manager must have the ability to communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds. Organizational and time management skills are crucial as this position requires managing competing priorities and multitasking throughout each day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Program Manager position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the Foundation's existing programs which include; feeding the hungry, youth leadership, self-empowerment, etc. Oversees all aspects of assigned programs - administration, budgeting, record keeping/statistics.
  • Coordinates the recruitment, training and retention of an international database of volunteers.
  • Responsible for several key areas of the Foundation's annual Global Youth Leadership Summit conference.
  • Grant Committee member to review all formal grant applications.

Event Fundraising and Travel

  • Travels frequently to domestic and international corporate held seminars to fundraise on behalf of the Foundation.
  • Pre-event fundraising preparation of documents, inventory, staff and volunteer schedules.
  • Oversees team members at Foundation event booth.
  • Coordinates event logistics with corporate staff.
  • Serves as a Foundation representative; attracts potential donors by providing information about the organization.
  • Responsible for cash handling, on-site accounting and loss prevention procedures.
  • While traveling to corporate held seminars to fundraise, requires working extended hours and days - early mornings, late evenings and weekend hours.
  • Post event follow-ups and reconciliation support.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred - Ideally in Communications, Sociology, Education or related field.
  • 5-7 years of office administrative work. Strong administrative and communication skills.
  • Prior experience in Managing programs for a non-profit organization.
  • Must have the ability to travel an average 8 days per month in support of program and organizational needs.
  • Adept at customer service relations.
  • Pleasant and professional telephone manner and appropriate email etiquette.
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
  • Plenty of enthusiasm, a can-do attitude and willingness to work as part of our cohesive team.
  • Able to work effectively in an environment requiring independent and creative efforts.
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, and a supportive individual able to take initiative.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook and Excel.
