Job Description

Vaco is looking for a FoxPro Developer for our client in Clearwater.

The Visual FoxPro Developer will maintain, develop and deliver custom FoxPro solutions. The Visual FoxPro Developer is responsible for delivering real-time information to support the operation of the business. The Visual FoxPro Developer will be also responsible for assisting in the modernizing our legacy FoxPro systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design FoxPro solutions to meet company's business requirements
  • Design and develop Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) to support data integration needs using FoxPro and SQL Server
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the needed artifacts (i. e., functional requirements, business requirements document, use cases, GUI and screen and Interface designs).
  • Support existing legacy FoxPro systems
  • Implement vendor upgrades as required.
  • Function as the Subject Matter Expert regarding FoxPro related matters.
  • Education and Experience:
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 4 years of experience in software analysis, design, estimation, development, testing, enhancements, support, and related activities through different stages of SDLC process
  • 5+ years of FoxPro / Visual FoxPro development
  • 3+ years of Microsoft SQL Server Database development
  • Qualifications:
  • Experience with SQL Server 2008, 2012 or 2014.
  • Must be familiar with GitHub and source code management in a team environment.
  • Must be willing and able to work in a close team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with other technical team members and non-technical customers.
  • Ability to take ownership of and follow through on client issues until resolution is achieved
  • Ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and technical judgment
  • Ability to contribute to building a strong and positive team spirit as well as align with company values
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), generating information and tracking status using proprietary software.
