Excellent opportunity for an FP&A Analyst located in the Woodbridge NJ area. For this role the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience with financial planning and analysis as well as working knowledge of SQL. This is a contract role that will start immediatley. Must be comfortable reporting into the office 5 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Assist to ensure that the centralized financial systems and related financial models present accurate data
- Assist to ensure that the month-end close process is executed correctly - validating the general ledger and invoicing activity to identify necessary adjusting entries and accruals
- Support the tracking and reporting of all P&L activity for the designated sub-region, ensuring accurate variance analysis at a client, product, and cost center level
- Support the forecasting and budgeting process - assisting to build forecast and budgets by client/product at an invoiced and as-recognized basis as well as at the cost center and by nature levels
- Work with Accounting and Sales functions to ensure general ledger accuracy and completeness, as well as identify and implement opportunities for improvement of close processes
- Provide support and assistance as needed to the Accounting teams, including providing cost center coding for non-routine/one-off expense items, required accruals, account balance research and other ad-hoc requests.
- Perform financial analysis and provide support to decision making processes throughout the company related to financial performance.
- Instrumental in the preparation of Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Identify and implement process improvements, within both finance and operational environments.
- Support projects related to system/process improvements and automation
Experience Required:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance, Accounting, or analytics related field.
- At least 2+ years of experience in Financial Analysis and reporting
- Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles and their application to the business
- Experience in a Big Four public accounting firm highly preferred
- Solid Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with data-intensive financial analysis.
- Familiarity with SQL, IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) and Power BI a plus
