Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES (include but limited to):

  • Assist in the development, coordination, and reporting of financial budgets for Technical Operations in partnership with department heads/project leads
  • Support Technical Operations' department heads on a regular basis:
  • Assist in day-to-day management of departmental financial analysis needs
  • Ad-hoc project-based analysis, such as cost/benefit analysis
  • Support capital expenditure budgeting and tracking
  • Act as business partner to various departments by representing finance in leadership team meetings
  • Assist in accounting close process by analyzing variances and ensuring financial reporting is accurate
  • Develop process improvements for financial reporting
  • Other ad-hoc analysis and duties as assigned


  • BA in Finance, Accounting or related field required (or relevant experience), MBA preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in similar role preferably in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
  • Highly proficient in Excel (including the ability to create pivot tables, VLOOKUP and high-level functions and formulas) and PowerPoint
  • Solid proficiencies utilizing key finance systems and reporting software (such as Oracle PBCS/Hyperion, SAP, TM1/COGNOS planning)
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Detail-oriented is a must; exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
