Job Description

Vaco has partnered with a well-known company in Memphis that needs a Fulfillment Supervisor. You will be responsible for the accurate, timely and efficient processing/shipping of sales and customer orders and is largely focused on the "pick and pack" functions within the distribution environment. Fosters team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises 30 to 50 associates.
  • Responsible for staff planning and making manpower request as needed.
  • Achieves continual process improvement. Focus on accuracy, expense management, and order processing schedule, throughput/flow management and value proposition.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization's policies.
  • Manage customer order change request.
  • Assembles, leads, and/or participates in order fulfillment team meetings to improve processes, eliminate waste, increase quality and help control/reduce labor costs.
  • Verifies all order are picked, shipped and invoiced using Pick Status report as it relates to order fulfillment.
  • Responsible for maintaining open lines of communication with freight carriers.
  • Responsible for scheduling outbound carriers and controlling outbound traffic.
  • Differentiates performance. Assist senior management staff with interviewing, hiring, coaching, training and mentoring staff to continuously improve the effectiveness of the workforce. Utilizes recognition and performance management to reinforce and affect behavior.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse control/order management system. To help eliminate non-value-added activities and inefficiencies.
  • Maintain awareness of loss prevention and security in accordance with CTPAT procedures.
  • Ensures all employees assigned to his/her area of responsibility follow all policies and procedures and holds them accountable for any deficiencies.
  • Promotes safety. Protects the health and welfare of company associates.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in order fulfillment/shipping.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Forklift certification to include (sit-down, reach truck and order picker).
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including: a variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day; repeated twisting at the torso while lifting and pulling inventory from shelves; regular lifting of up to 25 pounds. Must be available to work flexible hours and overtime based on business needs. The warehouse is an open environment therefore humid, hot and cold conditions may exist.
