Job Description

A great Not-for-Profit is looking for a Grants and Contracts Manager to join their team!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, develop and prepare periodic government expense reports, and establish supporting files for all reports
  • Prepare and analyze reporting templates for various government contracts by due dates
  • Train and supervise Grants and Contracts team staff and interns
  • Assist Controller in maintenance and enforcement of organization-wide cost allocation plan as per contract guidelines
  • Assist Controller and Human Resources in incorporating government contract requirements into agency wide budget
  • Meet with Program Directors to discuss implications of programmatic activity around restricted funding including budget modifications
  • Lead and conduct all program audits and prepare required schedules
  • Aid Controller during the year-end audit
  • Set up and maintain compliance for numerous online government granting and compliance entities
  • Coordinate with Program and Development in the procurement of private and government grants
  • Coordinate with Program and Development in the creation of program budgets as delegated


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or business related degree or an Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or business related degree with four years of relevant experience in contract and grant management with a not-for-profit organization
  • Experience with NYC contracts, preferably with ACS, DOE and SBS, required
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and quality
  • A proven track record of maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and Word
