Job Description

Healthcare client located in San Antonio, TX is seeking an interim Controller to manage day to day accounting. Ideal candidate will have 8-10 years experience within a healthcare company. CPA preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for internal controls for operations and finance.
  • Analyze and accurately report current month's financial results and variances from budgets
  • Assure compliance with federal, state and local government laws and regulations, and accrediting agency standards including sales, property, excise and franchise tax in a multi-state environment
  • Calculate provider compensation in accordance with provider compensation agreements
  • Develop and maintain strict controls over inventory and accounting for same.
  • Prepare monthly board financial report
  • Work effectively with outside CPAs to plan for and execute periodic audits, financial reports and tax returns in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Prepare financial feasibility analysis for capital projects, acquisitions and divestitures
  • Maintain general ledger and monthly closing activities
  • Prepares annual budgets for multiple locations and entities according to annually established calendar
  • Reviews and provides logical explanations for monthly, quarterly, and annual variances in general ledger accounts
  • Acts as liaison with external stakeholders in providing required financial reports and information
  • Assists with the financial analysis of acquisitions and de novo development of new locations as needed
  • Oversee and monitor daily cash management

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of the current trends and developments in healthcare reform and other federal programs
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate the financial condition of the organization to the company executives and Board of Directors
  • Experience with financial reporting, revenue cycle management, accounting, budgeting, accounts payable, treasury, audit, tax, payroll, and information technology within a Healthcare company including familiarity with revenue recognition standards per ASU 2011-07 (Topic 954)
