Job Description



Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting operations including billing, collections, treasury, A/R, A/P, G/L, payroll, tax filings and other accounting functions.
  • Manage the monthly close process, including accruals, deferred revenue, cost of sales, reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting package including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, monthly KPI's and MD&A.
  • Issue timely and accurate monthly financial reports to leadership team and Board of Directors.
  • Ensure effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and report variances.
  • Develop and document businesses processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Prepare audit schedules for financial statement audits and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Research technical accounting issues as needed.
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
  • Analyze business trends and identify opportunities to improve business performance and maximize cash flow.
  • Review contracts for proper pricing, expensing, billing and revenue recognition treatment.
  • Support preparation and submission of all federal, state and local tax filings and payments.



Qualifications and competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years in a Finance/Accounting role with progressively increasing responsibility; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Controller in a rapidly growing company; healthcare and/or technology experience preferred.
  • Strong technical accounting systems experience; Intacct experience preferred.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with proven ability to work effectively across function and with leadership team.
  • A proactive and investigative personality who is able to dig into the details and has high standards with regard to the quality of their work.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals.
