Job Description

Vaco has a contract role in Houston, Texas for an IT Helpdesk Analyst. Initially, hours for the position would most likely be either 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. or 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mon thru Fri. However, long term our client is planning on this resource assisting with their overnight support shift - most likely working a schedule of 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Also, our help desk techs rotate being on call during daytime hours on weekends, so the resource may be asked to be on call one weekend per month (typically 2-4 OT hours on these weekends, as needed).

  • Experience with providing Tier 1 technical support (via phone or remote support), including triage and troubleshooting of issues/service requests related to hardware, software, network access/connectivity, printers and audio/visual teleconferencing equipment
  • Ability to perform software installs / uninstalls
  • Ability to accurately document status and resolution on IT help tickets and escalate to 2nd and 3rd level support personnel as needed
  • Troubleshooting knowledge of Microsoft Windows v.7, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft O365 suite
  • Availability and willingness to serve on call support role approximately 1 weekend per month, as needed
  • Customer-service oriented and proactive
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills
  • Prior experience with Bomgar, Service Now, Apple/Android mobile device support, OpenText Livelink, SharePoint, SAP, IFS and/or Workday would be a plus, although not required
