HR Generalist
$64-72k + 10% bonus



POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level, working closely with Human Resources Director in carrying out duties in a variety of HR functions.
Serves as a consultant to managers and employees, formulating partnerships with them to deliver HR services in recruitment/selection and retention, onboarding, employee relations and engagement, performance management and development, compensation and benefits, and policy interpretation and employment law compliance.
Administer and monitor human resource programs and ensure compliance with credit union policies as well as external laws and regulations.
Participate in developing departmental systems, goals and objectives.
Provide employees and managers with an effective resource for resolution of employee relations issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. Develop and administer various human resources plans and procedures for the credit union. Keep abreast of changing trends or regulations and react quickly to incorporate those changes into the credit union.
2. Participate with HR Director in delivering day-to-day performance management and employee relations guidance to management (coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions); responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints harassment allegations and civil rights complaints; delivers exit interviews; monitors and reports on trends in employee relations issues. Provides input to direct manager on program
timelines/schedules, communications, and tracking.
3. Support CU Strategic Plan and Initiatives by consulting, coaching and guiding business unit managers on HR matters.
4. Participate in internal and external recruitment processes included but not limited to posting, requisition management, interviewing, pre-employment screenings and extending offers of employment. Provides support to business teams when sourcing, recruiting and hiring resources.
5. Actively participate in all reorganization efforts ensuring consistency in the CU and legal compliance.
6. Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures. Prepare and maintain handbook on policies and procedures. Provide guidance on managing to policies.
7. Manage employee coaching and counseling documents to ensure they are consistent with the credit union's policies and procedures.
8. Manage the performance pro system as directed by credit union policy; ensure performance evaluations are consistently administered across all departments/branches. Monitor evaluation process and revise as necessary.
9. Maintain all internal talent information and monitor career path programs as they relate performance evaluations and performance management. Partner with training team on developing and maintaining a pool of managers and supervisors trained on the interviewing process.
10. Assist with the development of regular analytics that inform management team for purposes of strategic alignment, including headcount reporting, demographic reporting, exit interview updates trends, turnover reports, and related; analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team.
11. Conduct/Participate in new employee orientations and exit interviewing; monitor new hire on-boarding and 30-60-90 day work experience; advise manager on findings.
12. Maintain strong presence in the community as a representative of the company with local educational institutions and charitable organizations.
13. Prepare reports accurately and timely on an ongoing basis (i.e. Monthly Turnover Statistics, and New Hires, Transfers, Open Positions, Terms, etc.).
14. Process and/or Coordinate any change of status requirements (demographic data, promotion, salary increases, status changes, etc.) in HRIS system. Oversee/Prepare data for salary changes, status changes, promotions and job transfers with discretion.
15. Maintain updated and accurate personnel files while complying with applicable State and Federal regulations/guidelines. Responsible for accurate and timely administration of HR data and files required to be kept separate from personnel files, such as EEO data, medical files, etc.
16. Update and maintain HCM/HRIS systems.
17. Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required
HR Certification strongly preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
5+ years previous HR experience required
Credit Union and/or Financial Services experience a plus

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Demonstrated working knowledge of Employment and Labor law
Strong leadership skills including the ability to negotiate, coach, motivate, support change, and make timely and effective decisions
Excellent planning & organizational abilities
Accuracy and thoroughness in work with strong attention to detail
Strong problem solving skills and critical thinking skills a must
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge and Application of principals, theories and practices in HR Adaptability and Dependability a must

REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate will be capable of demonstrating previous success recruiting and staffing, preferably multi-site.
Candidate must have previous experience utilizing multiple recruitment sourcing tools to effectively and efficiently recruit.
Must have previous experience recruiting talent for both hourly and exempt level positions.
Must possess strong leadership skills including the ability to negotiate, coach, motivate, support change, and make timely and effective decisions.
Must be able to clearly communicate to a large workforce and all levels of management.
Proficiency with MS software.
