Job Description

Vaco is seeking a Human Resources Generalist who will be responsible for HR operations and benefits and serving as an HR Business Partner to designated department leaders. The ideal candidate would have a passion for developing relationships and enhancing HR processes in highly dynamic, innovative, and fast-paced environments. Furthermore, the candidate would have a proven track record of building relationships with personnel of all levels within the company, improving people processes within the organization, and achieving metric driven goals to support the strategic objectives of a highly cross-functional organization. You'll be a part of our team helping new employees integrate smoothly into the business, thus setting them up for success. You will continue that relationship throughout their tenure, which brings a great sense of pride, value and satisfaction about why you do what you do. Attention to detail is a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains and updates current personnel files.
  • Prepares and conducts new employee onboarding, personnel changes and terminations paperwork.
  • Perform benefits administration
  • Administer and monitor the performance evaluation program.
  • Processes and maintains all leave of absence documentation, time off requests and notifications.
  • Maintains human resource information system/records and compiles reports from the system.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for applicable Labor Law.
  • Attend meetings and seminars, as necessary.
  • Attends and participates in company audits.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with staff.
  • Other duties as designated by Executive Director.

Required Education and Experience

  • Three to five years of progressive experience within HR.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university.
  • Knowledgeable of Employment and Labor Laws
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with varied projects, deadlines and priorities.
  • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, project management, communications skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • General knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel administration; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with peers and employees; ability to present information and make recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
  • Proficient computer skills such as Microsoft Office
