Job Description

Vaco Atlanta Staffing is looking for a dynamic HR Specialist to join our growing family-owned client's team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' human resources experience and work best in a self-managed, fast-paced team environment. In addition, this role is responsible for reflecting the Company's values and approach toward employee culture and success. Target compensation for this role is $45K-$50K plus a 5% bonus (and competitive benefits package).

This position is responsible for supporting corporate and field location employees and coordinating recruitment, benefits administration, onboarding, employee records, and the HR information system. Duties include but not limited to:
- Screen, recruit, and conduct telephone interviews to qualify applicants for corporate and truck driver positions;
- Manage recruiting process; Coordinate applicant interviews.
- Conduct/monitor new hire orientation and on-boarding, as well as monitoring new hires throughout their first 30 days of employment.
- Ensure positive candidate experience through customer service and timely communication;
- Serve as subject matter expert on company hiring policies and processes to support employee questions;
- Oversee background check process and answer candidate questions.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations with high degree of confidentiality.
- Recommend process improvements to achieve superior employee experience and satisfaction.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- Other duties as required

Qualifications:
Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification a plus
Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excellent Oral communications skills
Minimum of 3 years in Human Resources function in small/midsize company
