We are looking for an experienced HR person to create our new HR Manager role. This is a unique opportunity to really develop the whole HR process, utilizing the basic we have in place. Currently, this role will be a one-person show. So the list of responsibilities ranges from the day-to-day reviewing of time cards and punches to the monthly reporting and working with the leadership team to help grow our company. Summary/Objective The human resource manager performs duties at the professional level in the following areas: employee relations, training, employment, affirmative action and employment equity program, benefits management, and payroll functions. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be sensitive to employee goodwill, company culture and business needs. Essential Functions 1. Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action. * Maintains all employee and applicant documentation, as dictated by governing agencies * Coaches, counsels and guides supervisors before executing employee disciplinary actions. * Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary. * Assists with recruitment tasks as needed (job postings, reviews applications, interviews, background checks, drug screens and offer letters). * Acts as an employee relations specialist. * Monitors and approves time cards and maintains PTO records. * Maintains employee personnel files. * Maintains and updates employee anniversary list and posts to intranet * Maintains employee referral program * Reports, maintains and monitors all workers' compensation case files; follows-up on open cases. * Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process. Maintains and distributes list of new and canceled employees under each benefit plan. Verifies benefit billing accuracy and processes for payment. * Onboarding meetings with all new employees *Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs. * Maintain, periodically review and update the employee handbook/manual Competencies * Business Acumen * Strong communication skills - both verbal and written * Coaching/Mentoring * Critical/Strategic Thinking * Ethical Practice * Global & Cultural Awareness * HR Expertise * Relationship Management Requirements Required Education and Experience * Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other human resource programs. * Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience Preferred Education and Experience 1. Experience as an HR Generalist Additional Eligibility Qualifications * SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification a plus.
