Job Description


The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with other members of the company supporting the overall mission of the organization. This position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: recruitment/onboarding, performance management, time and attendance, benefits administration, employee relations, communication to other offices and employment law compliance.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating potential solutions and implementing the selected solution. Provide coaching and counseling to managers and employees.
  • Complete benefits administration including processing enrollments, COBRA, 401K changes, AFLAC, Legal Plans, etc. Manage medical/vision portals, Maxwell, ADP WFN and E-Time.
  • Provide support for the recruitment initiative by searching for candidates, posting jobs, and screening candidates as needed.
  • Process paperwork and maintain files for new-hires, terminations employee changes, and updates.
  • Responsible for the completion and administration of unemployment, FMLA/PFL, Disability, Worker's Compensation, employment verifications, and other human resources forms and claims.
  • Enforce adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements. Study existing and new legislation to understand the impact on the company and the company's policies.
  • Run weekly payroll, and update timecards daily.
  • Support the department in implementing programs to help improve employee morale.
  • Organize and oversee the company wellness program (ex. Fitbit competition and wellness newsletter).
  • Work with the Director of HR to plan and organize Company events such as volunteer events and the annual picnic.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the company-wide annual enrollment in a team driven environment.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding the EAP and all benefits programs.
  • Conduct employee benefits orientation, sustainability training, and other training, as needed.
  • Run weekly FSA reports and reviews YTD amounts monthly.
  • Communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully and confidentially.
  • Provide data analysis, metrics, and tools that demonstrate progress toward achieving key milestones.
  • Maintain employee files and records in compliance with all laws and ensure completeness of files.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
