Job Description

The Access Administrator is responsible for providing, removing, modifying, and reviewing user access to information systems, following the Access Administration Policy and other documentation to confirm roles and actions are correct based on user function, business needs, and appropriate segregation of duties requirements. Under the direction of the Application Access Manager, the incumbent is responsible for conducting periodic reviews of user access and activity for critical and high-risk systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Ensure access rights are updated in a timely fashion as needs change (termination, position duty changes, new systems, regulatory requirements etc.).
  • Perform access reviews to ensure access to resources matches role requirements and adheres to the least privilege principle.
  • Perform activity reviews, focusing on actions that may impact the security of company information.
  • Work with the Application Access Manager and appropriate business unit leaders to establish and maintain consistent review activities.
  • Assist the Application Access Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining a full spectrum of reporting methodologies and supporting documentation, including procedures.
  • Maintain and provide the Access Administrator documentation of reviews following the prescribed standard format.
  • Suggest improvements to the user access administration program.
  • Assist the Application Access Manager and lines of business in developing, implementing and maintaining standards, procedures, and metrics.
  • Assist the Application Access Manager in preparing for audits and exams in areas of responsibility and develop responses and action items for associated findings.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of business objectives, operations, products, policies and procedures to effectively assist in the development of appropriate user administration practices.
  • Support general risk management philosophies across the organization.
  • Assist where required in providing user access administration training, including education on philosophies, management processes, policies, standards and procedures and associated tools.
  • Assist and support information security, information technology and other specialists with integration of programs intersecting with user administration.
  • Participate in appropriate industry associations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

Education: Undergraduate degree in information systems or related field *

Experience:

  • 1+ years relevant user administration and Privileged Access Management systems
  • 2+ years experience with security applications such as AntiVirus, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Firewalls, Vulnerability assessment tools, SIEM, and Patch Management Systems.
  • 2+ years Information Security experience including implementing and maintaining security controls.
  • Experience in risk management, information systems audit, identity access management, and/or information security is preferred

Certifications & Licenses: Information Security certifications are preferred (e.g. CEH, OSCP, GSEC/GCIH etc.) or obtained within 6 months of hire.



Skills and Abilities:

Risk Management - Ability to perform information systems audit, identity access management, and/or information security.

Moderate Computer Skills - Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.

Strong Communication and Collaboration- Regularly uses complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management.

Moderate Independent Judgement - Results are defined; sets goals and determines how to achieve results with few or no guidelines to follow; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.

Varied Business Problems - Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedents and practices, and may collaborate with other operating areas.
