Job Title: Information Security Engineer II
Location: Richmond
Type: Contract to hire
Current team: 6 team members/1 contractor/will be adding another for a different role

Experience level of the team: 4 - 20+ years

Overview:

  • No one on the team works on just 1 product; for 4 - 6 months, this person will be working primarily on DLP and after that will have the opportunity to work on different technologies
    2 remote team members and rest of team works from home 1 day per week
  • This role will be 100% onsite until this person gets up to speed and then can work from home 1 day per week
  • Role is open due to growth - Looking to get this person started ASAP
  • Top 3 skillsets: Linux, Python, DLP (easy to train)

Description:

  • Candidate's primary efforts will focus on supporting and enhancing our extensive Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and data discovery environments.
  • Linux experience is a must along with Python scripting.
  • While the primary focus will be working with DLP, opportunities will exist to work with the team's other technologies such as firewalls, web proxies, remote access and NAC.

Notes from the manager:

  • Unique role sitting on the Network Team - our DLP (Data Loss Prevention) system has been in place for 7 or 8 years; we scan every work station, server, email, cloud based services such as SharePoint, OneDrive, and ServiceNow - Primary role will be supporting this environment
  • Linux exp is necessary because most of the 150 systems that do DLP scanning run on Linux and they have to be rebuilt, checked for queues and make sure queues don't back up and let email get released
  • Use Forcepoint DLP (Semantic is similar)
  • Python scripting experience desired %3D scripts written for Forcepoint that run automatically and we do lots of customization; support firewalls, web proxies, authentication systems, mac, remote access, etc. Looking for someone who has at least 1 - 2 years of experience of working heavily with Linux (years not important but more focused on the level)
