Project Manager
Telephone Migration
18+ Month Contract

Vaco Technology is seeking an Infrastructre Project Manager to join one of our Health Care clients in the Somerset Area. You will be responsible for the consolidation of legacy phone systems and the implementation of one centralized phone system. This is a long term contract position.

The ideal canddiate will be dealing with people across all areas of the business and technical landscape and will help drive our telephony and WAN standardization. This individual will manage specific migration waves, managing wave-specific communications and planning, as well as the capture of statistics, and follow-up on successes and failures. This role will work hand-in-hand with the service desk, and other technical teams, to manage issues and resolve problems as they arise.

  • Experience in general IT projects
  • Experience in Telephony, WAN architectures
  • Experience in coordinating individual phases of large-scale technology migration projects.
  • Support the PMO Program lead, Technical manager and team
  • Accountable to the PMO Program lead, Technical manager for support for all project activities
  • Maintain project documentation (e.g. meeting minutes, issues log, change control log, etc.) and ensure posting of documentation to project's approved document repository and SharePoint/Web site if applicable
  • Monitor deliverables due from project team members and follow-up with appropriate team members on all assigned action items
  • Setup and manage support functions covering planning, tracking, reporting, quality management and internal communication
  • Assist with status reporting, tracking milestones, key issues, risks, benefits, and summary of incurred costs
  • Review project activities for compliance with procedures and standards
  • Manage the support and provision of project tools and equipment used for testing, etc.
  • Act as scribe to capture minutes from project status meetings and working sessions
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably with a technical concentration (e.g. Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, etc)
  • Three years proven experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role
  • Three years' experience in project life-cycle, from conception to deliver
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Planner
  • PMP certification is a plus
