Are you an audit professional looking for a challenging role with one of Birmingham's premier companies? Vaco is thrilled to be working on this high-level internal audit position that offers the ability to lead and grow within the organization from the start. This person will be an integral team member from day one. The internal audit manager will be in charge of monitoring and reporting the quality of key performance indicators as well as identifying/proposing process improvement opportunities.

More specifically, this role is responsible for:

  • Working with all levels of management within the company to help organize and carry out their responsibilities efficiently and effectively
  • Reviewing current activities performed and provide analysis/recommendations on improvements
  • Leading and developing the internal audit team, as well as reviewing their work
  • Leading and performing operational audits as well as reviews to ensure their compliance with current standards and regulations
  • Leading and coordinating with external auditors independently, as well as all follow-ups and communication that arise from the external audit
  • Working with management to schedule work assignments for the team

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 years of experience in financial or operational auditing
  • Strong ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in setting goals as well as plans/schedules to achieve those goals
  • CPA, CIA, CFE, or CISA strongly preferred
