Internal Audit & SOX Consultant in Raleigh, NC at Vaco

Job Description

OVERVIEW

Our clients have immediate needs for an Internal Audit & SOX Consultant to support project-based initiatives and interim coverages during peak times, at an Senior Internal Auditor to Audit Manager-level skill-set, and always doing hands-on work.

Vaco Consultants will be responsible for supporting the Compliance and Internal Audit functions of our clients in supporting planning, testing, review, and remediation efforts identified during audit work. Our Consultants may also have the opportunity to supplement external audits through our CPA firm relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Planning the objectives and scope of audit assignments, including the preparation of audit related documents (engagement letters, planning memos and audit programs, etc.)
• Providing on-going communication to business partners and Internal Audit Manager
• Analyzing and assessing potential problems and risks, and developing recommendations for solutions
• Preparing audit reports to include clear and concise findings and recommendations for corrections/improvements
• Conducting special investigations as necessary

Skills and experiences:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Accounting Information Systems
• CPA, CIA or CISA preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience in a Big 4 or Large Regional Firm
• 5+ years of auditing experience
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel using pivot tables, v-lookups, and formulas as well as data searching
