Internal IT Auditor

Vaco Technology is seeking an IT Auditor to join our Internal Audit team in either our Purchase, NY or New York City offices. The role will be to support the IT Audit Manager and Deputy Audit Directors by planning and reporting on internal audit activities in order to provide assurance on the adequacy, appropriateness and effectiveness of the Information Technology (IT) internal control environment, risk management framework and compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Assist and lead operational and integrated IT audits of business and shared service functions, as necessary.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and perform IT audit assignments to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of IT processes and related controls
  • Prepare detailed working papers in TeamMate+ that evidence the work performed and any issues that arise
  • Draft, prepare and submit audit findings and present them to senior management
  • Act as an IT subject matter expert to ensure alignment with best practices
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders by sharing expertise and providing accurate and timely information
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge relating to key risk indicators for IT environment, industry related technology risks, and general insurance industry practice
  • Perform project assignments as directed, completing the activities within established timelines
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating key attributes such as a strong work ethic, accountability, agility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity, and collaboration
  • Liaison with the IT SOX team to ensure coordination and consistency of approach

Desired Skills & Experience

  • College Degree or related equivalent work experience. Minimum of 2 to 5 years of related work experience in a financial services with mandatory industry experience, whether primary, broker or reinsurance.
  • Strong computer skills required; Excel, database experience, working knowledge or similar underwriting or financial systems with FSRI/SAP preferred
  • Strong analytical acumen and logical thought process required
  • Communicates clearly and succinctly whether in oral or written form; effectively communicates in a variety of settings - formal and informal; attentive and active listener; straightforward and composed.
  • Candidate must be flexible; team-oriented and have strong administrative skills that include ability to prioritize and multi-task.
