Job Description

Vaco Staffing is currently seeking an Inventory Accountant for a perm opportunity with a client in Downtown Memphis. This position is responsible for reviewing pricing variances, monthly reporting, and communicating with other locations regarding changes in orders. Qualified candidates will have 3+ years of experience inventory accounting, and be able to support AP and billing as needed.


  • Reconciles the quantity variances report, monthly.
  • Communicates with locations, helps resolve discrepancies and advises them on inventory transactions as needed.
  • Enters cost changes into the computer system as needed and reconciles cost variances created by these changes.
  • Organizes inventory adjustment documents for the Inventory Analyst as needed.
  • Reviews cost variance items of significance with the Inventory Analyst and Business Units as required.
  • Maintains Oracle/Agvance system and inventory setups as required and guided.
  • Communicates and advises locations concerning costing problems created by transactional issues.
  • Reports unresolved discrepancies to management each month.
  • Performs general administrative duties as needed such as typing, filing, etc.
  • Participates in year-end inventory counts.
  • Performs monthly gross profit and shrink reviews and works with locations on any corrections.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
  • Reliable and regular attendance is expected.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent and five years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
